Define Your Path
The initial 60-minute consultation will involve a dialogue between the speech and language pathologist and the parents or family members to get to know your child and establish rapport. During this session, a comprehensive screening will be conducted. After the consultation, the parent or designated guardian/family member will receive a brief written summary report, and a treatment plan will be initiated.
Mapping a Plan
Standardized speech and language assessments are used to identify characteristics of speech and language function in comparison to same-aged peers. After the evaluation, interpretations and findings are discussed in detail with parents or legal guardians. A written report summarizing the findings and recommendations can be provided upon request. If services are recommended, the evaluation results are typically used to design goals and implement a treatment plan. Therapy is always approached with the end goal(s) in mind.

The frequency of speech and language therapy services for a child is determined by several factors, including age, severity, type of issue, and any concomitant disorders. These factors also influence the length of the sessions. Therapy can be conducted in various settings such as client's home, private office, school campus, public location, or via telehealth. We strive to accommodate a convenient schedule and location, including evening and weekend appointments, pending mutual agreement on the day and time.

All therapy programs are uniquely tailored to meet each child’s individual needs. The speech and language pathologist will design activities that engage and stimulate development to target specific goals. For older clients, initial tasks will also focus on fostering ownership of their goals and progress. Additionally, materials and resources will be provided to reinforce treatment techniques and modify behaviors that may hinder the desired communication outcomes.
Are We There Yet
As the child progresses through the treatment process, the professional providers may schedule progress review appointments, which can be conducted either in person or via teleconferencing.

Program completion ideally occurs when the client, family or designated guardian, and speech-language pathologist collectively determine that the established goals and objectives have been met. Once the individual has achieved the desired level of enhanced communication skills, the client and family will be notified accordingly.
